Hot glass experiences

Experience glass blowing in a private studio, located in the idyllic farmlands of South Jersey. During your experience you will receive one-on-one guidance from a seasoned teaching artist throughout the entire glass blowing process. The experience will be tailored for both adults and kids to accommodate their varying skill levels. Glass blowing sessions average in length from 45-minutes to 1 hour. Completed projects will be ready within 2-3 days and can be picked up at the studio or shipped for an additional fee.

Featured: Glass Pumpkins

The glass pumpkin is a seasonal favorite and starts as a gather of molten glass that is first rolled in crushed colored glass. Once the color is applied, the hot glass is pushed into a metal optic mold to form the even ridges. The glass is inflated and shaped into a round pumpkin. A small gather of glass is stretched and curled to form a stem to finish the pumpkin.

Sandweights and waves

Collect sand from your favorite vacation spot, summer home, or surf fishing spot, and step into the Working Man Hand Made Glass Studio to create a glass wave or paperweight with our expert guidance. It's a one-of-a-kind experience where you create your own keepsake. Watch our video of the Wave sandweight being made, then contact us to schedule your session. We look forward to creating with you!

Glass flowers are a seasonal favorite! Celebrate the spring and summer months with a glistening glass flower. In this experience you will learn how to hot sculpt molten glass into a fully blossomed flower.

paperweight

The glass paperweight has deep historical roots in South Jersey, where the Working Man Hand Made Studio is currently located. Participate in an historical tradition by making your own glass paperweight. Choose from a variety of colored glass frit to create a uniquely-yours sparkling glass orb. ​

drinking glass

There is nothing quite like drinking from a handblown glass tumbler! During this experience you will learn to use basic glassblowing tools while creating a full-sized drinking glass that is perfect for any cold beverage.

Wavy Bowl

Wavy glass bowls are both functional and decorative. During this hot glass blowing experience you will create an elegant, full-sized wavy glass bowl. Bowls average 10" in diameter. This experience is great for those who have participated in other glass experiences or for beginners who are looking to try a more difficult project.

SAfety Precautions

We want the experience to be both fun and safe. Please adhere to the following safety requirements for attire worn while in the studio. 

• Safety glasses will be provided and must be worn while in the studio. 
• Closed-toe shoes are required. No sandals or flip flops. 
• Natural fibers, such as 100% cotton, is recommended. 
• Long hair must be tied back.
• No jewelry or acrylic nails. 
• Long pants and long sleeves are highly recommended, even during warm weather.
